He really doesn't know any name, so it's fine. But also, I'm of the belief that when a horse is sold (I've never sold one) that everything changes... their entire life... so I actually not only think changing their name isn't a big deal in relation to everything else, but I thing sometimes it's the best thing to do. New home, new family, new name... new start on life... (just my opinion) :) p.s. We do have a gelding named Charlie when we got him.. he knew it, it fit him, so we kept it. We changed willow's name because we had NO idea what her name was when we got her... Oh, and we didn't change our barncat's name which is Oliver (even though our son is named Oliver lol) :)Shana Raehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02535118206796659493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5384484155703297051.post-10585661730252866092013-03-04T05:30:17.876-08:002013-03-04T05:30:17.876-08:00I"m so glad Willow and her friend are becomin...I"m so glad Willow and her friend are becoming buddies. Just curious - what was/is his name? I mean I guess what I'm asking is most grown horses come with a name. Maybe I missed what that was? But you are changing it yes? I got my boy when he was 7 and I was determined to change his name. I thought I hated his name. But then I realized that is who he is. He was 7 years old and he knew his name of course. I couldn't bring myself to change it on him. lol Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16149563376697532247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5384484155703297051.post-84817396270392645352013-03-03T21:34:49.109-08:002013-03-03T21:34:49.109-08:00Ever since your very first words describing your n...Ever since your very first words describing your new horse, I've felt so strongly that he's such a close and wonderful 'horse version' of my big, goofy, sweetly-awkward kitty boy, Boone. I think the same thing with each photograph. The trauma of the injury, surgery and being in a strange place for a week probably put more stress on her than we would think causing a setback. But being home and with you will surely help her get back to a healthy state. How lucky is she that she has someone who loves and cares for her like you do. And even your efforts to find her a friend is so incredible. Reading your story makes me want to go out and rescue a horse but we need to move to the country first! :) <br />Pam in AZAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5384484155703297051.post-46581411551066443482013-03-03T08:52:29.275-08:002013-03-03T08:52:29.275-08:00So glad Willow is feeling better and likes her new...So glad Willow is feeling better and likes her new friend.
