Mirabella arrived safely and walked into the barn with her head held high. ♥ She really is quite the princess. This was during their first few moments together. Mirabella did the cute baby thing... opening and closing her mouth over and over, saying "I'm a baby." This photo makes me so emotional - in a joyful way... I am so happy for Paloma. She will be such a good new mommy to baby Mira... I just know it...
And what this photo represents... it's even more proof that blood isn't all that important.
"For finding your mother, there's one certain test. You must look for the creature that loves you the best." ~ Little Miss Spider by David Kirk
And so another perfect love begings...

ReplyDeletesuch an awesome image of the new mother and her baby. I think they will bond well. Lots of hands on and touching and bonding. Work with her daily and you are going to do great with the baby. Fun times ahead!!

ReplyDeleteI love that quote. My daughter is also adopted from China. I have been following you since you first started Waiting for Sophie. I'm so glad you have Mirabella. I hope you continue to blog here, and keep Willow's legacy alive. Your story is so sweet and I've felt privileged to be able to read it and share in both the heartbreak and the happiness. I wish you well with your new filly and can't wait to read and watch her story unfold.
ReplyDeletePhew, I found it and caught up.....when I saw that you had gotten Mira, I thought on no, how did I miss all of this......I have Willows page on my desktop, but obviously hadn't checked it in a few days.....so happy I did! Congratulations on your newest journey!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Shana!!! I have had that quote on my blog sidebar since the day I started blogging. I love it. Can't wait to talk and catch up:)_
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you, Shana! I do think Mirabella was meant to be with you ... she's such a beautiful filly. And I think you should continue this blog, not start another. It's all part of an evolving story, not a starting over.
ReplyDeleteYour words as beautiful as the photo itself! So happy for you~

I'm so happy for you! She was definitely meant to be. She's beautiful! Keep this blog, since this is how Mirabella came to be part of your family, through Willow's path... I love this blog! You always make me tear up, always! Best of luck with your newest addition.
ReplyDeleteso lovely, so beautiful. You deserve these joyful moments, Shana.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you truly truly happy and one day when we get some land.. I am going to get a rescue horse too.
ReplyDeleteThis makes my heart ache, but in a good way this time. <3
ReplyDeleteI dont know how I found you on facebook but I would guess it was because I have always loved horses and your post about the horse that lived close to you caught my eye. I have over 2000 friends so I dont see many people's postings on a regular basis because they scroll too quickly. But, yours seemed to pop up a lot. I only knew your story from facebook but then I got more involved in Willow's story and started telling others about her. I cannot begin to tell you how your words have moved me. You have the gift of a storyteller. I was devestated so badly when I read that her leg was beyond repair that when my daughter and I were out having lunch in between shoots she thought something terrible had happened to me when I came out of the restaurant crying after reading your post. I have wanted to express my deepest sympathies to you but didnt figure you would even have the chance to read all the posts. But I am sending them anyway. I am so glad you are able to move on and begin to heal and the new baby is simply gorgeous!! I am in Chattanooga so I feel a closeness more so knowing you arent far away. I have begun to follow a couple of rescued dogs' facebook pages as well and would love to be able to rescue a horse but my subdivision bi-laws wont agree lol and I already have 5 dogs, 2 sugar gliders and a snake so I will live vicariously thru you and your babies! Much love to you and yours! -dawn thornton photography
