Guess who is going to see Willow??

I just got the most amazing news....  Nancy, who owned willow for 10 years before she went to that awful farm where she was abandoned, just called.  She is in her car on the way to Lexington!! It's a 4 hour drive, so she should be there when Willow is out of surgery! She knew I as home with a sick baby girl today, so she went to be with Willow (and to be my eyes and ears)!  And plus, she loves Willow like crazy...

As I've written before, we didn't even know Willow's real name or even how old she really was when I bought her.  But through some research, we found out that she was a Ster Friesian mare with a glorious past and a loving owner for 10 years.  Nancy still loves her and was shocked and heartsick when she learned of Willow's neglect and awful condition.  She has been so supportive of me during this journey with Willow, and I'm forever grateful that she is going all the way to Lexington to be with her today.  I know Willow will remember Nancy.... I just wish I could be there to see their reunion....

*BIG SIGH*.....Oh Shana.....it's all coming together. God is providing eyes and ears for your momma's heart. You have more than come into my living room....you and Willow have come into my heart. I love your PS actions...but....(and I'm sure you'd agree) that these life events put everything into perspective.....and suddenly everything else just falls by the wayside....
Anticipating your good report later. God bless you richly with whatever you need today <3

  4. I've been following your snippets about Willow on your FB page, and when I saw that she had a broken leg, something just struck a chord in me, and I've been closely watching your updates. I love horses---haven't be around many of them, but I did some leisurely riding when I was a kid. There's just something about them, and there's just something about YOUR heart and love for Willow. I'm praying for a good outcome of the surgery so you can get her back on your farm!

  9. I was actually going to see if you were close enough to me that I could possibly watch the children for you so you could go be with Willow, but I know that just sounds weird coming from a stranger. I've only lived in TN since July and miss my grandchildren like crazy, so it would have been great therepy for me too! Hopefully you have some close friends that might take shifts for you so that a trip to be with her will be possible at some point. If healing prayers and thoughts could heal her, she is good to go! You have so many people routing for her! Thank you so much for keeping us updated, she has become special to all of us!

  16. I'm dying to hear how the reunion went! I know that there are FAR more important things (like the fact that she did SO WELL during surgery and is already walking!) but I still hope you follow up with a story about Nancy's reunion!
How incredible that you are the owner of such an amazing horse with such a special, regal story. Although she had a couple of rough years, it's such an amazing story, and so representative of all of our lives. None of us have perfect lives, but hopefully the good times outweigh the bad...I know bad times certainly make me more appreciative of the good times I'm blessed with.
I'm so thankful Willow found such a loving, wonderful, FOREVER home and family! Thank you for sharing her with each and every one of us. We're all blessed to have known such a wonderful horse, even if only through your eyes. Hugs and Love to you!!!
