She's Home!

I can't believe it... Willow is home!  I already love having here here with me...  she is just so so gentle and sweet.  I go out to see her all the time, but it's so hard leaving her when I do!  It's wonderful for her here, because she can go in and out of the barn as she pleases.  We are keeping Paloma and Charlie in a separate pasture, but she can see them when they go by... also she knows our neighbor's white Arabian gelding is close by, and they call to each other sometimes.  Still, I wonder... doees she need a pasture mate of her own?  Horses are herd animals, but Willow is so independent and seems to not like other horses near her.  I'm going to try very hard to listen to her... to see if we should bring her a friend.  And I already have one in mind... ♥

  4. Things are looking good huh? I love reading about your journey with your Willow and the other horses. The images are great too but your words also make it come alive and we, the reader, feel like we are right there with you. Thank you for sharing with us!

  5. I love your black fences. Although horses are herd animals, sometimes just seeing/hearing other horses is close enough. Since Willow has been food deprived, knowing that she does not have to compete will be a comfort to her. If she's relaxed, I would maintain the status quo for a while. Will she have a stall-neighbor? The photos capture her "listening ears" so beautifully.

  9. From what I saw when I first saw she looks sooooo much better. She is a beautiful horse and I am not a horse person. In the right setting I could be. Keep up the good work.

  11. Was hoping for another blog, but alas there is not one. I suppose you are too busy loving on Willow to write, and that's perfectly OK. I am another facebook Friesian Mom, and that is where I first heard your story....been a follower ever since. I wish nothing but the best for you and this beautiful creature. Friesian's are truly a Gift From God.

  12. So glad to see her so beautiful and loved!
I wish I could have my horse at home, but he is 2km far, and although I visit him everyday, it's not like having him at home.
Love how things are getting on for you and Willow.
