The most amazing gift...♥

After an emotional afternoon, I opened my email to find the most amazing gift... photos of Willow from long ago!  Dana Adams had promised to find some for me, but I hadn't expected them this soon...  and I certainly wasn't prepared for how emotional I would be... or how magnificent she really was....

Dana took this at one of her Keurings (shows).   From what I hear, she was the star of the show...  and the most beautiful by far.  To see her this way... round and healthy... gives me such hope. Though now she is a mere shell of what she once was, I still see the same beauty in her...  Thank you so much, Dana!  I was actually on the phone with Martha when I opened the email and saw this photo.  I lost my breath, and I couldn't speak.  I smiled and cried at the same time... you know that kind of cry that almost hurts because you are smiling so big.  I  forwarded the photo to Martha and told her to check her email.  And for the 2nd time today, I made Martha cry...

  1. Will she be able to gain her weight back? I am following the story and I am just crushed for you. I really hope Willow will pull through this. She was magnificent! She IS magnificent. She is beautiful. I just love what you are doing for her. She needs you more than you will ever comprehend. I salute you for caring deeply for this beautiful animal. xo

  2. Willow is an amazing horse with an amazing spirit. She's exactly where she's meant to be at this time. In these photos she is indeed quite beautiful and strong. In the prior photos in this blog, for those with eyes to see, she's equally incredible with a very deep beauty and strength. It's there. I know you see it, Shana.

The road to a full recovery may be long but you have a great team, and a lot of fans out here praying away sending loving and healing energy your/her way. The gift of personal growth and strength, among others, that SHE'S bringing to YOU everyday may not be fully realized for quite some time. Inner peace and knowing will make this crazy ride a lot smoother. Smile. She needs it too ;)

    be well,
    be peace,
    be love,
    be aware,
    be present!

  3. What a stately picture of Willow in her prime. Where we board, there is a Friesian. These animals are so gorgeous. I can not fathom someone not caring and loving your baby. Our TB came into our life 1 year ago, she has fast became our family's love, even though she is our daughters baby. We're moving to the country just so she can be with us. I will keep Willow in my prayers and thoughts as you continue to nurture her back to health.

  4. This is kind of random but I have been reading this blog since you started it (I found it through your Flora Bella blog)and today, when I decided to google "Leona C. Friesian", I found two listings for a Friesian mare that has Leona C. listed as her dam (one on the owners' website and one on Friesian Horse Association of North America website):

    http://www.blackfriesianstallionranch.com/subpage.php?horse_id=12&individual=1
    http://www.fhana.com/classifieds/details.php?unid=1818

There is a pedigree included on the listing on the ranch's website and from what you've posted here, it seems to match up with Willow's pedigree. So this could be Willow's daughter?

I apologize if this is difficult to see or you didn't want to know or anything like that. I think what you've done for Willow is incredible and I just thought in case you didn't know or wanted to know that it would be selfish of me not to share. From reading this blog, I feel confident in saying you are an extremely strong, courageous, and loving woman.

I wish you and Willow the best of luck!

    1. Hi! Yes, that is Willow's daughter, the beautiful Galadrielle! I've seen both of those ads (they are both her) and called the previous owners... she was indeed sold (they just didn't take the ads down. Galadrielle was born at Nancy Hayden's Mill Cave Ranch along with Willow's other foals: Donovan, Malandra and Stryder (who is a beautiful stallion that was rescued from the same place as Willow)... ♥ thanks so much!
