Cousins

This is hard to explain in writing, so I hope it comes out okay...

I feel like I need to clarify something...  The fact that Mirabella is Willow's baby cousin is not what makes her special to me.  The fact they they are blood related isn't what's important.  Blood really doesn't mean anything to me... Two of my three children are not blood related to me.  Blood is not what makes a family.  Mira and Willow's blood relation is special only in that it was revealed as a sign to me...   And it was all the signs that compelled me to go see her.

How it all came together, how Willow revealed Mira to me... that is what was special about her. I really felt Willow telling me to find Gabriella, and then I felt led to Mirabella during my search. I feel that I was nudged to click on Mirabella's dam's name after I'd already decided against going to see her, and then her mother's sire's name popped out at me instantly that way... as it was yet another sign... that is was okay to consider this sweet filly...  I feel like Willow wanted me to experience new life and health, more love... and spring.

Mirabella... Mira... miracle...  my new little beauty...  a special gift from my beautiful Willow.  No, her bloodline is not why she is mine.  She is mine because she was meant to be...

  4. I think the majority of your readers know where your heart was when it came to choosing Mira. Of course it's amazing that Mira is Willow's cousin, but the signs of HOW it all came to be is what made the choice right for you. We all need to be patient and wait for certain signs when making big decisions. I would definitely say the signs lead you to Mira. And you are so right about blood not making family.

  6. It's irrelevant why you have got Mira, what matters is that she is perfect for you and you for her. She will fill that void that Willow left. I still hope you find and manage to get Willow's daughter "Gabriella". Wishing you so much happiness after the heartbreak. xx

  8. Shana you don't have to explain we all know how much love and compassion you have and you give and we know Willow is with you guiding you

  9. I absolutely agree: it's not blood. It's sharing love. Then you are a family. And that said, no need to clarify, you had already explained your feelings about sweet Mirabella and you got there.
    What a beautiful story.

  11. Not that I want to discourage a new name, But I was always told that it is bad luck to change a horses name. It has not worked out for me when I have bought a horse and changed its name. Mira is short for Mirabella, but I would keep Mirabella on her paperwork. Just a thought. :) I can't wait to follow her grow!

    1. HI Lindsey, oh we LOVE her name and are not changing it at all... I sometimes call her Mira for short... but mostly Mirabella (and we are not changing her paperwork) :)

  13. Oh, my gosh! What a beautiful story! I've been catching up from the day you were in search of Gabriella, Its amazing isn't it when God brings a situation together.

When I read the part of Mirabella putting her head to your chest, a strange, amazing feeling came over me, this was most definitely meant to be, I wonder if she was expecting you?

I say that, mostly because for Mirabella put her head to your chest, of course, in horse language, that is a sign of respect to the leader, bowing her head to you!
